Parent, Carer and Teacher Drop In Sessions - IsleListen

We are open Monday to Friday between 9.00am – 5.00pm. Isle Listen is not a crisis service and only offers planned interventions. Should you or someone you know be in need of immediate support outside of our office hours you should contact Manx Care’s 24 hour Crisis Response and Home Treatment Team on 01624 642860 or the Emergency Services on 999.

Help support the mental health of young people

How we can help

We know looking after children and young people isn’t always easy. Whilst it is incredibly rewarding watching them grow up, it can feel especially difficult if their mood and behaviour seems different and you’re not sure why, or what you can do to help. But you are not alone.

We offer regular ‘drop ins’ at our Douglas and Castletown Centres, where you can come along and informally chat to members of our schools and therapeutic teams about any worries, concerns or unanswered questions you might have about a young person’s mental health and wellbeing. Please view our drop in calendar for each location below.

Since 1983, our charity has provided psychological support to people and their families on the Isle of Man, and we can offer lots of practical advice and tips on supporting your child – from how to encourage them to open up about their feelings to dealing with mental health services. If together we feel that our service could help, we can also discuss the referral process while you are there. We can also signpost you to somewhere that is better suited to help.

Why what we do is important

We firmly believe that mental health education should be embedded from an early age and that everyone should have access to effective mental health support at the point of need, not the point of availability
