Getting started
The most important thing is to make your page as personal and engaging as possible, and keep it up to date with pictures, information about your story and reasons for raising funds for Isle Listen.
Before you begin, please remember…
- Search for Isle Listen on JustGiving, and click the “Start Fundraising” button on our page.
- Funds you raise via your JustGiving page will automatically be paid directly into our bank account.
- Don’t forget to set an expiry date for your fundraising page – we suggest leaving your page open to donations for a couple of weeks after you’ve undertaken your fundraising event/challenge to allow for those late donations.
See our tips below for setting up your page.
Have you set up your fundraising page yet?
Create your pageSet a target
Setting a target will help to motivate you whilst you’re undertaking your fundraising event or challenger. It may also encourage your supporters to donate more! Remember to ensure it covers your minimum sponsorship target if your event has one. Otherwise, don’t be afraid to be bold! According to JustGiving pros, pages with a target raise 46% more.
Tell your story
Here you can add what you are doing and why. This really helps to engage people in supporting what you are doing and often makes the difference on whether they sponsor you. Pages with pictures or videos can raise 14% more… per photo!
Track and share your training
If you use Strava to track your training and want to provide updates on your Just Giving page, you can now link your JustGiving page with Strava. Allowing your supporters to see how you’re doing could help you raise 40% more!
Share your JustGiving page
Share your Just Giving page using as many social media channels as possible. Regular visibility will encourage people to make the donation they promised you. Don’t be shy; people want to hear about the good things you’re doing. Don’t forget about email too. Some of your networks may not use social media. Would your work mind if you added the link to your internal email signature? It’s worth asking!
Many donations come after the event
Approximately 20% of donations come in after you’ve completed your event as lots of people like to see photos of your doing your event or a medal photo. So show off and encourage those late donations!
‘Offline’ donations such as cash
If you held a cake sale at work or used your paper sponsor form, an easy way to pay in that cash is to donate to your own page. The money comes straight to us, so you don’t need to do anything else.
