Isle Listen take on Quest
April 17, 2025
Boiling Eggs, talking with strangers and lots of walking – mainly in the right direction!
Quest have been phenomenal supporters of Isle Listen since the get go, donating £5.00 per team entry towards our cause, supporting us to continue our mental health education programme and support for our Island’s young people. Following their recent very kind donation of £2,590.00 from last year’s Quests, we decided to get involved and see what it was all about!
Each month Quest starts at a different location, the details of which are released just 48 hours before the event. We charged our phones, packed our backpacks and headed over to the start location, ready for our instructions and briefing for the day. Much was still a mystery at this stage as we arrived at Noa Bakehouse to get signed in, which involved joining a WhatsApp group, being handed a sheet, and a very important paper clip.
What is Quest all about?
Quest is a monthly adventure challenge event, an enthralling mix of hiking and treasure hunting set amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Isle of Man. This unique adventure is designed to immerse you in the island’s rich history, stunning natural beauty, and renowned landmarks, all while challenging you with a thrilling treasure hunt.
The first thing we noticed on arrival at Noa was the buzz! Lots of excitement and speculation on what was to come. People kept piling through the door, the excited atmosphere building. Quest has a very loyal following with most registrants confirming it was not their first attempt and had come back for more (even after the gruelling Laxey Quest). Each team wants a slice of the pie, with prizes up for grabs and an annual leaderboard updated monthly.
The community is extremely friendly with over 100 participants on hand to encourage, smile and support each other throughout the day.
How do you Quest?
As soon as it hit 10am the start details were released and excitement radiated throughout the group. We were provided with three links: Scavenger Hunt, Location Clues and Side Hustles. Each link contained multiple clues in the form of cryptic images, riddles and fun but slightly wacky challenges to complete along the way. Upon completing each activity or finding each location, we obtained a number to make up coordinates for the finish location. For the location clues we scanned a QR code, and for the challenges in the Scavenger Hunt we had to send photographic proof of our antics.
With it being our first time Quest-ing we decided to focus on the Scavenger Hunt and Location Clues to give us the best chance of reaching the finish line.
Our challenges took us to The Nunnery, Summerland, Nobles Park, cooking an egg in Deli by Shar, asking strangers to reenact Lady and The Tramp as well as looking for people with moustaches. Sounds wild right? Well, it is, and it was so much fun.
Over 4.5 hours of walking, covering 8.5 miles, we arrived at the finish location, The British Pub, with one last Quest remaining – a dance with a skirt on! We had completed Quest and what a day we had in the sunshine!
Upon completion, each team is awarded points which contribute to their position on the leader board. Quest concludes with a final in September to crown the winner of the year.

What’s the link between Isle Listen and Quest?
Quest is a mindful day out, focussing on problem solving, socialising and exercising. It takes you away from daily concerns and worries and keeps you focussed on the task in hand. Not only that, Quest takes you to places you haven’t been before which gives you a sense of being productive and appreciation of your surroundings. Whilst you may enter to compete, rather than win, everyone gets a sense of achievement which ultimately lifts our mood and gives us great satisfaction. We will definitely be back for more!
Why should you sign up to the next Quest on Sunday 27th April?
To appreciate Quest you must experience it. The team behind Quest have created a slick, professional and hugely enjoyable format and there is so much fun to be had. Whether you take part to spend time with friends, keep active, utilise your brain or try to win the £750.00 top prize, you won’t be disappointed.
Want to know why the other teams keep coming back? We will soon be releasing interviews of what our fellow participants had to say when we spoke to them during the event.
Unleash your sense of adventure with Quest – You won’t regret it! Sign up here.
