The Power of Music on your Mental Health
Music is one of the most treasured gifts in life — and not just because it entertains us. Research has shown that blood flows more easily when music is played and elevates your mood. It can also reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure, decrease cortisol (stress hormone) levels and increase serotonin and endorphin levels in the blood. Music can boost the brain’s production of the hormone dopamine.
We have a thriving community of musicians on our Island and we’re proud to bring you Isle Listen Live, a series of gigs throughout the year for your entertainment, highlighting the work of artists and their creative process. And, with the generous support of our local community, all funds raised from each event goes directly to helping us to continue providing our essential mental health support to children and young people on our Island.
